Fiction 33

“Am sorry, I have this report to finish, I will be with you in five minutes.” she says.

“That’s okay.”

“I was in bed all day, fighting a migraine. Sorry.”

“I said it’s okay. Calm down and finish your work slowly.”

“How did you know I was working in  a hurry?”

“I just do. I’ll go fix myself a drink and come.”

“Okay.” she replies. “You can go watch TV or something.”

“No it’s okay. I’ll stay here.”

“You’ve never told me why you’d just be here than anywhere else.”

“Because you calm me down.”

“What?” she raises her eyebrows. “Really?”

“Yes. All I have to do is grab a drink and watch you. I forget everything.”

“What do you like about my face anyway? I don’t understand.”  she smiles.

“I like your nose a little.”

“My nose? My big fat ugly nose?

“That’s why I said “a little.” he smiles back.

“Next?”

“I like your ears.”

“And?”

“I love your smile. It makes your eyes twinkle. It’s the most genuine smile I’ve seen.”

“Aww…Come give me a hug now, please? ” she says, wiping a stray tear from her eye.

“Never plead for anything that you truly deserve. I don’t mean only this hug. I mean anything.” he smiles, enveloping her in a hug.

“Why don’t you find me a job in your office, then ?”

“Then I’ll have to shut shop in a week!”

“Why?  Because I’d drive you that crazy with all my chatter?”

“No, because I’d just stare at you all day, without getting any work done.” he laughs.
